Windbreak was founded to help schools revitalize face-to-face relationships and focused learning by eliminating digital distractions. Our tools reduce the burden on teachers, provide flexibility to administrators, and allow peace of mind for parents.

Our founder, Mike Blouin, is an educator with 18 years of experience as a teacher, mentor, and supervisor. Passionate about connecting students with one another and their local communities, he encountered increasing challenges in recent years.

Students, increasingly, were glued to their devices instead of talking with peers or engaging with the world around them. Their ability to pay sustained attention in class had similarly suffered. All these trends led back to the same root cause: cell phone addiction.

This realization led Mike to found Windbreak, with the goal of helping schools re-energize real world relationships and foster academic achievement.
